This video really gives us an upclose view of his model train! While we only get to see this great train for 25 seconds, it's really worth checking out. You don't really get to see the awesome pulling power of this locomotive, as we can actually only see too engines in tandem, and that's a little bit of a disappointment. It would have been great to see it pulling a big load around the track, and maybe even showing its muscle by hauling freight up a nice grade. But having said that, for what we do get to see, we can tell this is a hobby that this model railroader really takes to heart.
As for the actual video, we have to really begin by discussing the audio! First, the horn on the train adds such an authentic touch that only good things can be said about it! Then the other sound effects kick in, and you really feel like you're seeing the real thing, not a model train. Take for example the 'chug chug' of the engine. You hear the labored sounds of a real diesel getting started on a long journey over the rails when you hear this sound effect. And the hiss and squealing of the train's air breaks as the engine comes to a stop really brings reality to the scene! You can even practically feel the energy it takes to stop the train as the breaks squeal, and the air hisses while the locomotive reverses and carries the train almost out of the frame, back the way it came.
The lighting effects on the engine are amazing as well. With the video shot from the low perspective that it has been, you really feel like you are standing next to real railroad tracks. You kind of have to look closely for it, but another effect becomes apparent as the train rolls forward on the tracks toward the camera: we can see plumes and puffs of smoke coming out of this model train diesel engine!
In addition, He's done an exquisite job of painting and landscaping his model train layout, as well. It looks like we're standing next to a fully functional, full scale railroad on a busy day, as there are a few other trains on tracks around us.
This model railroad enthusiast had even dedicated this entire room to his, obviously precious, hobby. We can see the walls lined with shelves, and on the shelves, we can see cars, engines, and even entire trains displayed proudly! In fact, every where you look, there is model railroad equipment.
For only a 25 second video, we can surely tell a lot about this model train locomotive and the care and dedication of the model train enthusiast behind them!
